Bot Fly (Cuterebra) Larva Emerging From a Squirrel

Before another person asks if I killed them, just read the whole story here: Our local feral cat killed a squirrel outside our house here in North Carolina. We went to investigate and discovered these strange lumps on the squirrel. They turned out to be bot fly larvae! Tree Squirrel Bot Fly larvae. (Cuterebra emasculator). These Cuterebra larva emerged from the body while we watched. It was horrifying!
