Prince Charles in Kuwait - Raw Footage of Party on Royal Yacht Britannia (1997)

On 21 February 1997, Her Majesty’s Yacht Britannia arrived in Kuwait as Prince Charles, Prince of Wales was received by Kuwaiti Prime Minister Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah at the start of a two day visit to the Gulf Emirate. The future King’s time in Kuwait was the first leg of a tour of Gulf countries which included visits to Bahrain and Qatar. The main event of the visit, captured by ITN’s cameras, was a glittering reception held aboard the Royal Yacht Britannia. As well as recording distinguished guests mingling on the yacht’s deck, the ITN crew also filmed an impressive musical display put on by the regimental band accompanying the Prince of Wales.
