Monopoli is an Italian community (Comune) with 48,819 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Apulia region, Metropolitanstadt Bari at the Adriatic, about 40 kilometers from the provincial place of Bari. Monopoli already existed in the Old Stone Age the archaeologists agree, after a 11,400-year-old children’s skeleton was found in excavations in the old town.
