Selected originals (offcuts, selected scenes, out-takes, rushes) for story “Knighthood for P.M. of Mirth.“ - 53/54. Some nice shots not used in final story. These include Sir George Robey and his wife piecing together a jigsaw in their home, a shot of various framed programmes and pictures relating to George Robey’s music hall days, C/U of a July 1894 Barnard’s framed music hall poster with Robey top of the bill, cartoon sketches featuring Robey, portraits. George with his budgie etc. Another shot of George’s wife reading out some of his telegrams including ones from Laurel and Hardy, Elsie and Doris Waters, Anna Neagle and Herbert Wilcox, Bobby Howes, Ralph Richardson, Malcolm Sargent, Gillie Potter etc. Sir George looks a little bemused by it all. His wife prompts him to say his lines and says “Don’t look worried“. Rather sad really. But he gives her a compliment and a kiss telling her that she has always been a lady to him. It is Dermot McDermot’s (sp?) telegram that presumably prompts him
