Not only do we have the Tesla swap C10 squarebody back on the shop floor, we have Dave’s Tesla swapped Mercedes CD300 in the parking lot too! But before we put these two EV conversions head to head, we have to address some of the issues we have had with Tesla’s Model S subframe. Back in California in July, we broke not one, but two of our Tesla large drive unit CV axels. It wasn’t until we fixed the Chevy the second time at the Hoonigan burnyard that we realized we cracked the motor mount on the rear motor’s Tesla subframe! So we’re yanking this Model S motor out, make some repairs to get these mounts beefier than ever, and taking it out side by side with Dave’s Mercedes EV conversion to give it the first shake down since Californi
