David Wood and his childhood cuddly toy Fred the Ted take a trip to Merrythought in Ironbridge, Shropshire, looking at the manufacturing process of stuffed bears and meeting Mrs Taylor, who helps give Fred a new lease of life. We’re also taught the history of German lady Margarete Steiff, who is largely credited with the invention of teddies, and play David’s guess-the-bear song-game. See if you can get all three.
