Zelensky Hails NATO Certainty On Ukraine, Biden Acknowledges Frustration, Russia Warns On Guarantees

Ukrainian President Zelensky struck a conciliatory tone as he joined NATO leaders at the first sitting of a new NATO-Ukraine Council on July 12. US President Joe Biden said the first meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council had concluded that “Ukraine’s future lies in NATO.“ Zelensky said “it was the first time that it sounded so certain” that Ukraine will be a NATO member when the “conditions are appropriate.” Meanwhile, the Kremlin has warned that western security assurances for Ukraine would be a dangerous mistake. The US State Department asserted that Ukraine will become a member of NATO regardless of Russia’s position on the matter. #nato #russia #russiaukrainewar #ukraine #putin #usa. #zelensky Video: AP/AFP/Reuters/Twitter 0:00 - Introduction 0:38 - Zelensky Welcomes ‘important Security Guarantees’ at Nato Summit 4:03 - Zelensky Meets Biden, Other Nato Leaders on Sideline of Summit 6:07 - Russia Warns West Against Security Guarantees for Ukraine
