In 1975, Papua New Guinea will become an independent state in Oceania. But, in the first half of the seventies, the population still maintained archaic habits, notably ritual cannibalism, particular mortuary and matrimonial customs, bloody rituals and a sexuality rooted in animism. The documentation of these aspects contrasts with Queen Elizabeth’s visit to the country. Some sequences from the film were taken over by director Bruno Mattei in his 1980 film Virus (aka Virus cannibale/Hell of the Living Dead/Zombie Creeping Flesh).
