THE TENSION ENGINE - Unusual Tension/Horror Instrument

This is THE TENSION ENGINE. Heavily inspired by Mark Korven’s Apprehension Engine, the Tension Engine utilizes electronic aspects, bow-able parts, and strike-able metals. This is my solution for scoring suspenseful moments and evoking unsettling emotions. This project took about a week to complete and was done with less than $100. The reason for this project came from the need to expand my horror/tension sound palette, in preparation for an animated horror short I am scoring - “Burning Rope“ by Juan Belardi. The final instrument turned out better than I had expected, so I will use this instrument for scoring future projects that I see fit. I highly recommend you build one yourself!
