Kaliningrad (Russian: Калинингра́д, German: Königsberg), is a the capital city of a Russian exclave at the Baltic sea between Poland and Lithuania. The history of Kaliningrad dates back centuries where it was the capital of Prussia with the name Königsberg. It was a an important cultural hub in the 18th and 19th century, also the home town of philosopher Immanuel Kant. Little is left of these times after the destructions that WWII brought. Now thanks to a new eVisa program, tourists from 50 countries can easily visit Kaliningrad without a normal russian visa. There are direct bus connections from Gdansk, Elblag and even Warsaw.
