Best Hip Strengthener: Bulgarian Split Squats

The Bulgarian Split Squat is one of Jill’s favorite/ least favorite hip exercises! This strength and conditioning exercise is used for both prehabilitation, to prime the hip for surgery, and rehabilitation to strengthen and stabilize the hip. This magical exercise helps us understand and assess single leg strength differences - which can be vastly different, as injury or dysfunction in one hip will create imbalances in the other. Pull up a stool or chair (maybe a blanket for the top of your foot) and join Jill on this (fun) truth expedition into the hip complex. Jill goes over basic alignment and offers modifications using weights and pace to regress and progress this hip/ glute/ quad/ hamstring focused exercise.
