Brazil NOW! Flood washed away people! Emergency Continues to Worsen

The most powerful flood in Brazil submerged over 150 cities. About ten thousand people were forced to leave their homes. Authorities deployed 8 aircraft and around 600 military personnel to assist the affected areas. In some regions, the flooding was so severe that helicopters couldn’t land. At least 29 people died as a result of the devastating flooding caused by heavy rains in the southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. This information was confirmed by the state governor, Eduardo Leite, during a press conference on Thursday evening. It is reported that the natural disaster affected 50 municipalities in this state, where about 10 million people live. At least 10,000 people were forced to leave their homes because the rains continue. More than 500,000 homes were left without water supply, and over 300,000 without electricity. Additionally, a part of the dam of a hydroelectric power station on the Rio das Antas river collapsed. Authorities in the municipalities of Cotiporã and Bento Gonçalves urged residents to evacuate immediately, as a sharp rise in water levels of 2-4 meters is expected. Heavy rains in the southern Brazilian state, bordering Uruguay, began on April 29th, and according to preliminary data from meteorologists, precipitation will continue at least until May 3rd. The National Meteorological Institute (Inmet) has maintained a red alert level for part of Rio Grande do Sul territory due to ongoing heavy rains. Destructive floods have become so frequent that they affect all continents simultaneously, even desert areas where ordinary rainfall is rare. This trend is extremely dangerous. In order to inform people about the true causes of climate catastrophes and about real solutions that will save our lives and the planet as a whole, international forums and conferences such as the “Global Crisis“ have been created. We invite you to watch a fragment from the recent “Global Crisis. The Responsibility“ forum.
