The featured oil painting is of a guy with a beard. As I was painting this one, I wasn’t quite sure if it was going more in a “mountain man” or “fantasy RPG character” type of direction. I think in the end, it really could go either way. With this painting, I’ve tried to keep my momentum going with certain aspects I’ve been practicing. I have tried to continue blocking in small sections of discrete color, and avoiding over-blending as much as I can. I have a natural instinct to blend colors on my painting surface too much, and I always regret when I do.
