Opishnya verguns and vergunits with jelly - traditional wedding desserts, now forgotten. Fried in heated oil with the addition of a spoonful of lard, strips or “rolls“ of unleavened dough made from homemade sourdough, flour, eggs, soda, a pinch of salt and sugar are an excellent dessert for calendar and family holidays, in particular, weddings.
