With 1220 KM completed, Western Freight Corridor enters its last stage of completion

Construction and development of Dedicated Freight Corridors is in full pace and project has entered last stages. As the full-fledged operation nears, 96 per cent of the 1506-KM-long Western Dedicated Freight Corridor is completed. 1,220 KM out of 1,506 KM of WDFC has been completed and train operations are going on in the completed sections. The Dedicated Freight Corridors will be used specially for movement of goods train shifting them from normal tracks. The corridor aims to facilitate the movement of double stack goods train and aims to bring down transportation cost of logistics. Moreover, the Rewari-Dadri section in Western Dedicated Freight Corridor is special in its scale as its gradation is 70 meters. Sharing details, incharge of Rewari-Dadri section said it contains more than 350 bridges & Asia’s longest double decker tunnel.
