If you run after time, time runs furthermore fast.
Do you want to stop it?
It leaves you breathless and it ages you more.
You must catch it in fraganti, in the present,
but present has still to be built.
We have been born to never age, to never die.
We only have the awareness of having arrived too soon
and a certain disdain for the future that assures us
already a nice slice of life.
“Oro Viejo“ is dancer and coreographer Rocio Molina’s new production, premiered in the Teatro Lope de Vega (Seville) in October 9, 2008, within the XV BIENAL DE FLAMENCO DE SEVILLA.
In her previous works, Rocío had always dive deep inside the stories from where movement arise, looking for how and why it developes. In this occasion the basic theme in the show is the passage of time and the arrival of old age, from which glance several vital matters are lived with an inusual depth, with an unique retrospective that it gives sense to all the lived time.
These great and important themes, as love and solitude, narrated by old persons (anonymous main characters of the show), are the material on which Rocío it moulds the production, to highlight the importance of everything and everybody who precedes us.
