This would cause havoc on the interstates where a newly opened tunnel flooded with nearly a foot of water stalling multiple vehicles before the entire interstate came to a haul for over an hour which lead to traffic backups for miles and diverting traffic in the wrong direction and off of the interstate until the water cleared. CDOT crews brought in plow trucks to remove debris and allow water to drain faster.
