REMASTER vs OST music comparison - Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne

As fans of the game may know, the PS2 (and by extension also its remaster) and OST version of the music is very different. For some reason, the music in the game is heavily compressed to the point of being muffled, as if it’s playing underwater. However, the OST version feature high quality music that sounds much cleaner. If it was an artistic decision to make it grungy, this should have been reflected in the OST version, so I’m guessing it was a space-cutting measure, as the audio is often the first thing to get slashed when it comes to compressing data in a video game. I have put a short and concise video showcasing the difference between the two. The result should speak for itself. As of right now, it seems that the HD Remaster is not featuring the better sounding OST music in the game or offering an option to toggle between the two. Make sure to get your voice heard if you want it to be changed before the game comes out.
