Like London’s Crystal Palace Exposition of 1851, the World’s Columbian Exposition of 1893 in Chicago displayed the latest wonders of American technology not to mention the less high-minded but more alluring attractions of the midway). But the fair was also the backdrop for the final battle in the current war between Edison and the Westinghouse-Tesla team.
