War Dance - West African Polyrhythms Applied to the Piano

Original piano composition based on rhythmic patterns and polyrhythms from traditional West African music. The standard 12/8 African bell pattern (x _ x _ x x _ x _ x _ x) is present throughout the entire piece. Played on the right hand during the first half of the piece and then taken by the left hand during the second half. This continuous pattern is layered against many different rhythmic patterns to create a dense polyrhythmic texture imitating the style of African drum ensembles.
