BUILDING An Alaskan Log Cabin (The Walls) - Wk 1

Welcome to my spring cabin project! This 385 square-foot log cabin is located near the town of North Pole, Alaska. It is close to the river, on the edge of a beautiful old slough and is frequented by moose, ducks, fox, a family of squirrels, and the occasional lynx. The cabin will be built out of 8-Inch White Spruce logs. The logs were cut a few miles from site, and then milled by a local sawmill. Once milled, they were kiln dried to lower the moisture content. I have designed the cabin myself and will perform 100% of the construction. This cabin is on the outskirts of town. It is not off-grid, and will be connected to local electrical power. I will however, install a back-up generator, drill an independent water well and dig an on-site septic system. This project will take several months to complete and will contain a series of videos. I am excited to get started! Peace to you my friends
