CRAM Mortar Engagement

C-RAM Engagement of incoming mortar fire. To answer some of the most asked questions: This is a C-RAM system. It is an LPWS, Land-Based Phalanx Weapon System derived from the Navy’s CIWS. C-RAM is an acronym for Counter Rocket Artillery and Mortar. It shoots down incoming rockets and artillery fire from enemy combatants in hostile areas. It shoots approximately 80 rounds a second of 20mm self destructing ammunition. The rounds go approximately 2,500 meters before self destructing. So they don’t land anywhere. The tracer rounds are 1:5. CORRECTION, they are all tracer rounds. 1:1. It is part of an Air Defense Artillery system in the US Army. This video is real and is from a training scenario where real mortar rounds were being intercepted. One can be seen being intercepted in this video. The video is not edited because I love the sound of the crickets. I have more videos of live fire intercepts that may be uploaded at a later
