Battlefield (1914-1918)

French troops walking single file across battlefield - a huge mess of mud and shell holes which rain has made giant puddles. Western Front. They are far from camera but I am sure they are walking on boards laid down over the muddy ground so that they can walk without getting hopelessly stuck. A few are pushing bicycles.
