Exploring an Abandoned Dungeon like Prison from 1906 - cornered in cell by intruder

In America’s first Capital city, is a prison built over a century ago. The prisons design was important, to bring a menacing imposing facade to all who saw it. This was an idealogy that began in the late 1700s, designing buildings with the architecture to match the purpose, and this Prison certainly shows its purpose. Standing 5 stories tall, this red brick brutality Prison was built in 1906. It was a replacement for the existing Prison and served the community for decades until it’s closure in 1979. During its operation, the Prison faced some criticism for the treatment of its inmates, putting general population inmates in padded cells from overcrowding and lastly, feeding inmates road kill for cost saving efforts. Since it’s permanent closure, the Prison has been a site for people to visit to learn dark history first hand, and for others to use its walls for protection.
