Queen Elizabeth II Inspects the Crown Jewels (1967)

This stunning, newly-restored HD footage shows Queen Elizabeth II inspecting the Crown Jewels at the Tower of London on 13 July 1967. The jewels had recently been moved to a new underground stronghold in the Tower called the Crown Jewel House. Featured in this footage is the Imperial State Crown. Created in 1937 for the Coronation of King George VI, the crown is made of gold and set with 4 rubies, 269 pearls, 11 emeralds, 17 sapphires, and 2,868 diamonds. The jewels that make up the Imperial State Crown are some of the most famous jewels in the Crown Jewels collection, such as the Black Prince’s Ruby and the Cullinan II diamond. The crown is worn by the monarch at various state occasions such as the State Opening of Parliament. It will be worn by King Charles III as he leaves Westminster Abbey after his coronation on 6 May 2023. #QueenElizabethII #Queen #QueenElizabeth #ElizabethII #Coronation #CrownJewels #Jewels #ImperialStateCrown #KingCharlesIII #CharlesIII #King #KingCharles #Crown To license the footage featured in this clip, follow the link below: OR FS130767003*&sort=best&license=rf,rr To search the ITN Archive collection on Getty Images, follow the link below: 🎥 Subscribe to our YouTube channel (tap the bell icon and stay up to date with all the latest ITN Archive videos!) - @ITNArchive 🎥 Follow us on Twitter - 🎥 Like us on Facebook - 🎥 Check out our TikTok - @itnarchive1955
