Ukraine Russia War: Ukrainian brigade storms Russian trenches near Bakhmut

A Ukrainian storming brigade published footage on Thursday (November 16) said to show its fighters capturing Russian trenches near Bakhmut. In the video, soldiers arrive in an armoured personnel carrier at a stretch of forest and having a fire fight with other troops. Reuters was not able to confirm the location or the date the video was filmed. Russia captured Bakhmut, theatre of some of the bloodiest fighting of the 20-month-old war, in May 2023. Ukraine launched a counteroffensive in June aimed at retaking occupied land in the country’s south and east, including Bakhmut.
