Bon Jovi at Johannesburg Stadium, Johannesburg 1995

The second half of 1995 saw Bon Jovi at their absolute peak and this is one of my favourite recordings because of that! The band was in top form, playing tight, but with a lot of joy and energy. Richie’s playing is out of this world at this show and Jon’s vocals are powerful! Just a shame that the full 2nd night wasn’t broadcasted. I cleaned the “flickering“ off the old VHS source and restored the colours amongst other things. There is a pressed CD bootleg of this around which is somehow clean but shitty at the same time. Many of those mid-to-late 90’s “releases“ were mixed in a very metallic way and I don’t like that at all. I used the original VHS audio and decided that I’d rather have a little hiss, but a more natural sound.
