Today is National Aviation Day!

Today is National Aviation Day! The LAPD’s airborne law enforcement program began with one helicopter in 1956. Today, the Air Support Division (ASD) is the largest municipal airborne law enforcement operation in the world, and boasts the nation’s largest rooftop heliport. ASD is responsible for providing police service to an area of 468 square miles, representing approximately over 4 million residents. Source: Police frequency
