How to Draw and Paint Halloween “RIDE WITH A WITCH“ - Paint & Sip at Home - Acrylic Painting Lesson

PAINTING VIDEO DESCRIPTION – Need a Halloween painting idea? This canvas painting tutorial will take you through easy step-by-step instructions on how to draw and paint a witch riding a broomstick, a super cool Halloween inspired portrait skyscape painting of “RIDE WITH A WITCH” with acrylic paint. This really is my favorite time of year! Autumn time means changing leaves and beautiful fall foliage, that perfect outdoor sweatshirt weather, fall festivals, apple picking and baking pies, pumpkin spiced everything, fall baking championship on the Food Network, and, of course, Halloween. Spooky, creepy, scary, enchanting, alluring, exciting—there are so many words to describe this super fun holiday that’s filled with pumpkin carving, sugar rushes, and corn mazes. Strolling through the streets of Salem, Massachusetts, taking a lantern tour of Sleepy Hollow, New York, going on the Haunted Mansion ride during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween in Magic Kingdom, or just sitting on my porch dressed as a skeleton pranking all the trick or treaters as they knock on my door, each year I try to celebrate this occasion by trying something new. This year, I’m supposed to be driving down to Florida to see my son and daughter-in-law and we’re all going to Halloween Horrors at Universal Studios. Can’t wait! But, in the meantime, let me share with you this iconic image of a magic witch flying around the world on her broomstick. You’ll learn simple painting techniques that will help you to develop this fun spooky creation filled with a unique perspective, dimension and bold autumn colors. You’ll have so much fun as you learn how to paint this playful rendition of a mythical lady dressed up in a flowing cloak as she leads a pack of bats around the full moon and soars high above the night clouds into a faraway imaginary place with a Halloween holiday storybook illustration feel to it. Your witch will certainly give any Quidditch player at Hogwarts a run for their money! Learn how to use simple painting techniques for blending the background adding fluffy clouds for added depth and atmospheric dimension and then watch your lady figure come to life with layering colors and adding highlights and shadows to her clothing and hair for form and movement. You can personalize the type of hat or dress she’s wearing, the stye of broomstick, have her carrying a magic potion, lantern or an apple, put a black cat on the back of her broomstick, or you could even change the bats into crows. Go wild and have her flying through a pumpkin patch, a corn field, in between a couple of scarecrows, or through a graveyard. This is a painting inspired by the power of imagination, so feel free to use yours! Using only 3 brushes, 7 colors, and only one brush per step, you’ll create the best canvas painting in the world! Paint loosely and make it an abstract painting, paint with oils and make it fine art, use bold yellows and red and make it pop art! Not just a magical fantasy painting, but an easy canvas wall art painting for beginners. Paint at home, or with friends! Have a date night, paint party, or virtual paint night. Paint with gouache, oil paint, or water colour, any medium will work! I hope you enjoy watching this Youtube art video as you learn how to paint a witch on a broom!
