3rd Tverskaya-Yamskaya Street is a street in the Central Administrative District of Moscow on the territory of the Tverskoy District. The street starts from Oruzheyny lane and ends on Lesnaya street. The numbering of houses starts from Oruzheiny Lane.
Living in Tverskaya-Yamskaya Sloboda, which occupied a large space on both sides of the Tverskaya road, the coachmen provided transportation of mail, passengers and cargo, first along the Moscow-Tver highway, then Moscow-St. Petersburg. Sloboda retained its character until the second half of the 19th century, but after the end of the Yamskaya chase and the construction of the Smolensk (now Belorussky) railway station in 1870, active development of the Tverskiye-Yamskiye streets area began. In the old reference books of Moscow, until the XX century, this street was called Ilyinskaya.
