How I became fluent in English after moving to America in 6 months (5 practical tips)

I’m an immigrant living in New York City. Learning how to speak English fluently to the level I speak today definitely was a challenge when I had first moved to the states. Yes, I did end up making it happen “on my own” but I would have not been able to do it by myself. Many would think English comes easy as an immigrant, but that’s not true! We immigrants and a lot of international students struggle to find opportunities to engage in real conversations in English — because it’s actually harder than you think to make native speaker friends. If any of the immigrants or international students are watching this, please know that you are not alone! If you are one, I’d love to know your experience in the comment section below. Fast forward to today, with my little brother who also had the same experience with me to build a community & English learning company called Immigo. Our mission is to help English learners like my old self get access to real English — whether that is real expressions that you can’t learn from textbooks OR opportunities to have real conversations in English (not just asking about the weather or asking how much something is, etc.) Well, whatever that is that brought you to my video — I am so happy to have you here. Let’s get fluent together! 📸 Instagram Chelsea: Immigo: ✌🏻Get a free trial class on Immigo ——————————— 🌸 Time Stamps: 0:00 Intro 0:59 My English Background 2:02 Tip #1 3:26 Tip #2 5:40 Tip #3 7:37 Tip #4 9:01 Tip #5 11:39 Closing thoughts
