🇬🇧🇺🇦 Once again discussing British military equipment: The Sun has published an article about the outcomes of using Challenger 2 tanks in Ukraine. Reporters interviewed members of the AFU who operated these combat vehicles. Around 14 months after the announcement of the Challenger delivery, 5 out of the 14 tanks were non-operational. The restoration process is hindered by the lack of spare parts: some malfunctioned “right from the start”, while others need frequent replacements. Specifically, parts of the aiming system and rubber linings on the tracks are mentioned. However, one AFU representative highly values the tank’s striking capabilities. He mentions that the gun’s precision enables hitting targets at a range of approximately 4,500 meters. The main drawback is limited mobility, attributed to the substantial weight of the 62-ton combat vehicle.
