How did you learn vibrato on the flute? If you haven’t figured it out yet, stick with it. You can get it. It’s something that you have to feel. You have to understand where it comes from and what it feels like. Once you know what it should feel like, then you can start using it, whether playing faster or slower to create color in our solos. Vibrato makes your tone just so much livelier. It’s alive, it’s real, it’s resonant when you use vibrato. So, you want vibrato to happen every time you put your flute up. It should be organic to the tone. There’s a couple of ways I’ve used to help my students create vibrato and I’m going to try and explain them to you. Have Fun!
