Leopold Stokowski rendition, performed two years before his death - vintage pictures from Life magazine, September 7, 1953, of Stokowski at home with his wife Gloria Vanderbilt and their two young sons: Galina Vishnevskaya, accompanied by her late husband Mstislav Rostropovich (1927-2007), performs Rachmaninov’s Vocalise, Op. 34, Nr. 14, published in 1912 as the last of his Fourteen Songs (Op. 34) and dedicated to soprano Antonina Nezhdanova.
