Quake 2 for AIX Gameplay! Power4 1GHz, IBM GXT4500P, 2GB RAM, AIX

Here’s some footage of a very obscure port of Quake 2, the AIX port. This was designed to run on IBM’s RS/6000 PowerPC based workstations at the time (think like the 43p, 44p, etc.) and was only supported on the GXT3000P GPU from IBM. After messing around a bit, including installing the Ultimedia Services from the 4.3 bonus CD, OpenGL from the install discs, and symlinking a file that Quake 2 couldn’t find, I got Quake II running on an Intellistation Power 275 with a Power4 CPU and a GXT4500P GPU.
