Face To Face - Out Of My Hands (1984 - USA)

Out Of My Hands is from the self-titled debut album of the Boston new wave band Face to Face!! A fantastic song! The album is very hard to find, even on CD, however, in 2006, the independent label Wounded Bird Records reissued the album on CD for the first time ever. -E N J O Y - --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lyrics: • Loneliness surrounding me like an island I got washed up on the shore Left out to the rain Sending out my final prayer I’m sending out of deep despair I’m sending out for a ray of hope I’ll send it out and then just let go Can’t keep the rhythm when I’m losing time How could I be so blind? I’ve been reaching for I’ve been reaching out of my hands It’s out of my hands It’s out of my reach Break the chains that hang on me, I’m no prisoner up against the wind I look for escape from within I’m speaking words that don’t get heard I tell my story to the world Feel the feelings that don’t get touched Are all my senses senselessness I’ve been reaching for a falling star That’s just beyond my touch I’ve been reaching for I’ve been reaching out of my hands It’s out of my hands It’s out of my reach And it’s just another story Becomes just another tale When You’re tired of all the glory And You throw down your hands And You walk away from it all You hear the talk but You don’t heed the call It’s out of my hands • --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Face To Face was: • John Ryder - bass • William Beard - drums, drums programs, timbales • Laurie Sargent - voc • Angelo - voc, acoustic & electric guitars • Stuart Kimball - acoustic & electric guitars, keyboards, voc Tracklisting: Side 1 1. While the previous album had edgier elements, like the rap in “Under The Gun“, Confrontation was starting to move away from that style. Because of that, this release is seen as a bridge between the debut and their next (and final) album One Big Day. Like the 1984 debut, most of the songs were written by Angelo, with Laurie Sargent credited as co-writer on half. This record was not a success and would be the last release by the band on Epic Records. Many vinyl pressings in circulation can be found with a gold promo stamp on the back cover, making the non-promo copy more desirable to collectors due to its rarity. • One Big Day (1988) is the third and final album and was somewhat of a departure for the band as it showcased the more country-rock material principal songwriter Angelo would later become known for. The group disbanded shortly after the album’s release. • Laurie Sargent, along with Dana Colley and Billy Conway formerly of Morphine, formed the band Twineman in 2001. (new_wave_band)
