WHO Calls Climate Change ‘Single Biggest Health Threat Facing Humanity’ | Forbes

Climate change is the most pressing concern and threat to people’s health, the World Health Organization said in a report released Monday, saying rising temperatures threaten to undo the past 50 years of improving global health and calling on global leaders to act. The report was released ahead of the United Nations Climate Change Conference, or COP26, that will kick off at the end of the month in Glasgow, Scotland. It was originally slated to be held In November last year, but was pushed back amid a rise in worldwide coronavirus cases. Participating countries are slated to share progress and new goals tied to meeting the 2015 Paris Accords, but critics say they are skeptical the summit will be effective. At a rally in Italy earlier this month, environmental activist Greta Thunberg said politicians tasked with climate change policy “are pretending that they have solutions to the climate crisis and that they are taking sufficient action, but we see through their lies.” Stay Connected Forbes on Facebo
