This is the beginning of the Ichigo VS. Grimmjow rivalry/saga. As someone who read the manga before watching the DB fansubs, I always thought Grimmjaw was more fitting, as his partial Arrancar mask is on his jaw and looks rather “grim.“ But since he is now more commonly known as Grimmjow, that’s the spelling I used.
