Entry Into Rome (1944)

Title reads: “Entry into Rome“. Italy. Various shots of American troops and tanks parading through streets of Rome and past the Colosseum. Cheering crowds greet them on their route. Church bells rings, British and American flags fly from buildings. Various shots of General Mark Clark riding through crowds in a jeep. More shots of crowds and parade. Various shots of angry crowds outside insurance building in Piazza Venezia where Fascists are hiding. Italians wave their fists and break down the door, antifascists hurl a bomb inside. Italian Carabineri are sent in to stop vigilante action. More demonstrators knock down door of Radio Station converted into Nazi headquarters. As the collaborators are forced into the street they receive rough treatment from crowds. Various shots of massive crowds gathering in St. Peter’s Square.
