Scooter Ski Aka Scooter Racing (1967)

St Katherine’s Dock, London. M/S of a three-wheeled car (a Reliant Robin?) towing a kind of jet-ski pulling up in the street; a couple get out and lift the ’Scooter Ski’ off the trailer. It is lowered from the dockside onto the water and a boy rides off on it. Several shots of people riding the Scooter Skis around St Katherine’s Dock. A man arrives at the dockside on a Scooter Ski; he is dressed in a bowler hat, mackintosh and carries an umbrella; he is helped off and walks along the dockside to his chauffeur-driven car, lifting his hat to the camera as he passes. Commentator says “Just the thing for the City gent who’s fed up with crossing London Bridge on a commuter-crowded train“. The chauffeur looks like Harry Hill. Note: despite the alternative title above, there is no racing seen in this film. Cuts exist - see separate record. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
