RELEASE DATE: 18th NOV 2022 Pre-save here - Come on England (You Better Believe It) came to Nigel Carr in a dream. He quickly wrote the lyrics to preserve it and contacted legendary music producer Mike Bennett, whose credits include Toyah, The Fall, Ian Brown, The Specials, Fuzzbox, and Fat White Family. The song’s release is a celebration (and motivation!) of England’s participation in the #FIFA2022 #Worldcup in Qatar. It’s become what some describe as the ‘people’s world cup song’ and is unusual for its female vocal, provided by Melanie Williams of Sub Sub and Hacienda Classical fame, who teams up with Ian Carr. The song also features Chorlton High School Choir who provide backing vocals. One of the children, Jerrelle Clayton-McKenzie sings the final gospel inspired vocal flourishes.
