Leroy Gomez: I Got It Bad [Full Album + Bonus] (1979)

Leroy Gomez had a No. 1 hit all over Europe in the summer of 1977 with Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood as the lead singer of Santa Esmeralda but was unable to repeat the success with his first solo album Gypsy Woman, released in 1978. He had another go in 1979 with his self-produced album I Got It Bad, recorded in the Union Sound Studios, Munich, with Thor Baldursson being the musical director. Several Munich key players like Mats Björklund (guitar) and Curt Cress (drums) participated with Kay Garner, Sue Glover and Madeline Bell providing backing vocals. The album was a stronger effort than Gypsy Woman, both in terms of song material (all but one co-written by Gomez) and production, but it may have been let down by the choice of single, Get Up Boogie, perhaps being too generic in 1979. Sadly the album did not sell well.
