Russia: Uran-9 and Nerekhta robots flex combat capabilities at Zapad-2021

Mandatory Credit: Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation Russia’s Uran-9 and Nerekhta combat robots took part in drills amid regular troop formations for the first time during joint Belarus-Russia Zapad-2021 strategic military exercises, as shown in footage released by the Defense Ministry on Monday. Footage shows drills testing the Uran-9 and Nerekhta combat robots at the Mulino proving ground in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod region, as well as at the Kuzminsky training ground in the country’s Rostov Region. The Uran-9, a tracked unmanned combat ground vehicle (UCGV) designed for fire support, reconnaissance, and anti-tank missions, is manufactured by Kalashnikov Concern. The UCGV can be equipped with an Ataka anti-tank guided missile launcher, machine gun, Shmel-M rocket-assisted flamethrower, and a 30-mm 2A42 auto-cannon.
