Ask Augustin 46 - Motivation, and Thank you!

It’s been forever since the last Ask Augustin! I spent over 2 months in Europe from the end of September until mid-December. After the 6 months at home, with only occasional virtual performances, it was amazing to travel to play some concerts in front of audiences in October and November. Traveling from country to country and navigating the complex testing and quarantine rules was a surreal experience, but in those few and brief moments when I stood on stage again, things felt a bit more normal. I’m back in the United States now, and am not sure when I’ll hit the road again, because the pandemic situation is so dire in a lot of countries. The past year has taught me to take things a day at a time. Today I want to talk a bit about motivation! Even though Christmas is usually a time of cheer, this year it is hard for a lot of musicians to feel motivation to play and practice and work in the face of so many obstacles. As a musician, you are in many ways your own boss. Finding the motiva
