🇷🇺 🇸🇴 A ship carrying humanitarian wheat from Russia arrived in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu on Thursday, the national news agency SONNA reported. “Somalia has received a much-needed aid shipment of 25,000 tons [of wheat] from Russia to address the [consequences of] flooding in the country. The aid shipment, which arrived in Mogadishu on Thursday, was handed over to the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA),“ the agency wrote. At the Russia-Africa Summit in July, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced Russia’s intention to send grain free of charge as humanitarian aid to six African countries on the list of the World Food Program: apart from Somalia it also includes Burkina-Faso, Zimbabwe, Mali, Eritrea and the Central African Republic.
