Anti-Putin Russian soldiers launch major attack on Belgorod
The Russian paramilitary group Freedom of Russia Legion said it launched an operation against President Vladimir Putin’s forces at the Ukraine-Russia border early on Tuesday, March 12, days ahead of presidential elections.
Aerial video posted to the group’s social media channels showed a drone strike on what they said was a Russian armored personnel carrier in the center of Tetkino. Storyful has not confirmed the type of vehicle.
In a video posted earlier on Tuesday, the Freedom of Russia Legion, known also as the Free Russia Legion, said they would “take our land away from the regime, centimeter by centimeter.” The video comes days before Russia’s planned presidential election begins on March 15.
