Careel 18

The last three years of my Careel 18 which was originally bought to teach my kids and wife how to sail to it unexpectedly becoming a project boat. 90% done and still 70% to go. This slide shows from buying Second Wind as an old and well used trailer sailer to something a little more presentable. Culminating in competing in the Careel State and Nationals for the 2020 50th Anniversary of Careel’s going into production. Whilst we may not have scored that well in the Nationals, we had just the best time with the nicest people you could meet and still one of the best Class Associations going. The Careel 18 is a native of Australia, built right here is Sydney with a production run of just under 400 boats making the Careel one of the most popular production trailer sailers ever produced in this country and still a great little boat.
