Military engineers demining the liberated territories of the Zaporozhye region

Military engineers demining the liberated territories of the Zaporozhye region Military personnel of a separate engineer-sapper unit of the 58th Combined Arms Army continue to carry out demining of the liberated territories. The day before, military engineers went to clear mines from a former ammunition depot of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The ammunition depot was previously located on the territory of a livestock farm and was destroyed by a high-precision strike by Russian artillery. Local residents, returning to the territories liberated from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, discovered unexploded ordnance and submitted a request to the command of the engineering and sapper unit of the Southern Military District to clear the area. In order to efficiently carry out the tasks of demining the area, military engineers in a chain inspect meter by meter of the liberated territory. Having discovered an explosive object, sappers stop and give a signal to the unit commander. Depending on the characteristics of the detected ammunition or explosive material, a decision is made to destroy it on site with an overhead charge, or transport it to a landfill for further detonation. Russian military personnel receive requests to clear mines every day. The Ukrainian Armed Forces regularly shell peaceful territories where there are no military installations, including with cluster munitions. Join Military Wave Источник: Military Wave
