This is the final race in the 1971 European Saloon Car Championship and Ford vehicles feature prominently. John Fitzpatrick and Jochen Mass in a Ford Escort RS 1600 took the chequered flag. Dieter Glemser came third in his Ford Capri RS 2600, winning the championship overall.
