Warrandyte Park 15/12/20. A pair of Eagles were active on the ground with the prey and I recorded this one leaving. A wedge-tailed Eagle and what appears to be a Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo The wedge-tailed eagles are the largest bird of prey in Australia (and one of the world’s largest) and appears to be a resident of most of Australia. Their wingspan can reach metres (9ft 4) and they can grow to a height of metres (3ft 6). Their nests can reach 3 metres deep, 2 across and weigh over 400kg. The nests are re-used and can last years.
